KATHMANDU: Police said two cases of theft were reported in the Capital on Thursday.

Property worth around Rs 200,000 was stolen from an unattended room of Aashish Bastakoti in Baluwatar, KMC-4 on Thursday. According to police, thieves barged into the room through the front door after they broke the padlock, police said.

Similarly, thieves broke into the house of Chet Narayan Bhattarai in Pasikot of Budhanilkatha-5 and ran away with property worth around Rs 235,000 on Thursday.

Bhattarai said the thieves managed to break the window grill and take off Rs 45,000 cash, a laptop, a digital camera, a silver karuwa (traditional water jug) and gold ornaments.

Police said they are looking into the cases and searching for the absconding suspects.
