Two western supporters of ‘Free Tibet’ held
Kathmandu: Two western supporters of Free Tibet Movement were arrested on Saturday from near the Visa Section of Chinese Embassy at Hattisar.
Tibetan refugees and western supporters of the refugees had clashed with the police at Hattisar after they chanted ‘Free Tibet’ slogans and tried to cross the security line on a street near the Visa Section. They were organising a protest rally to mark the first anniversary of Chinese crackdown in Lhasa, the Tibetan capital. China had cracked down on peaceful protests of Buddhist monks in Lhasa on March 14 last year.
The police said the duo was arrested for breaching the law and order of the country. There was no immediate report of their release.
