KATHMANDU: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, minister for foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, on Thursday arrived in Kathmandu for a one-day visit.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Nahyan had met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal in his one-day visit.

It stated that both sides expressed satisfaction over the bilateral relations and the cooperation between the two countries.

It further mentioned that they had underlined the need to explore further avenues and areas of cooperation between the two countries to enhance mutually beneficial relations to new heights.

The two sides discussed various ways and means to expand commercial, economic and technical cooperation referring to the immense potentialities of sectors such as tourism, civil aviation, trade, investment and renewable energy including hydro-electricity and solar power.
