UCPN-M leadership draws flak from lawmakers
KATHMANDU: Lawmakers of the UCPN-Maoist have criticised its leadership, during a meeting of its parliamentary party, held at the Constituent Assembly building in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
They have criticised the leadership for their arbitrary act of making agreements, including the recent 16-point agreement, with the ruling parties, as opposed to the party's past consensus and agreement.
The lawmakers argued that their party's leadership ought to abide by the previous pacts, agreements while promulgating the constitution as the previous pacts, including the Comprehensive Peace Accord, were the integral part of the process.
According to Lawmaker Daljit BK Shreepali, today's meeting also discussed the constitution drafting process, plans and programmes of the government and budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2015/16.
UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Vice-Chair Narayan Kaji Shrestha, parliamentary party deputy leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Chief Whip Giriraj Mani Pokharel had informed the lawmakers about strategies and programmes the Party is going to adopt.
On the occasion, Dahal also admitted that the recent pact was made with the ruling parties in a ompulsion to save achievements of the past.
