UML campaign to revive tourism

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML is launching a special campaign to welcome domestic and foreign tourists at various tourism destinations and trekking routes of the country in the presence of central leaders on Tuesday.

The event is being organised under its National Volunteers Campaign.

At a cadres gathering organised in this connection at the party headquarters today, it was shared that different programmes will be organised by welcoming domestic and foreign tourists, cleaning tourism heritage sites and giving message that Nepal is now safe for tourists, according to CPN-UML leader Surya Thapa.

The party also urged all tourism-related organisations to make the programme a success.

A cultural programme will be orgnaised in Thamel after a rally from Basantapur while a special programme will be held at different tourism sites including Kanchenjunga, Halesi, Janakpurdham, Sauraha, Pokhara, Lumbini, Khaptad, Rara, Jomsom and Thakurdwara.

Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to address the programme to be organised in Thamel while responsibility has been given to central leaders of the party at other tourism sites, added Thapa.

Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam and leader Madhav Kumar Nepal are scheduled to go to Kanchenjunga and Janakpur respectively.

Party Secretary Gokarna Bista is the coordinator of the campaign.
