UNMIN chief praises GPK for HLPM
KATHMANDU: UNMIN chief Karin Landgren called on Nepali Congress president at the latter’s residence in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Wednesday morning.
According to Chiranjivi Nepal, advisor to the Foreign Minister who was present in the meet, they discussed the new political developments following the formation of the High-Level Political Mechanism (HLPM) and the integration of the Maoist PLA combatants. He added that Koirala assured Landgren that the country’s much anticipated tasks of the peace and statute drafting processes would be completed in the given time frame.
After the meet, Landgren informed mediapersons that she congratulated Koirala for the HLPM which was formed under his leadership. She expressed her hope that the HLPM would play a vital role to take the peace process to its logical end and complete the new statute drafting within a very limited time.
