KATHMANDU: Unified Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Rastrabadi (URPP-R) General Secretary Bharat Jung Upreti has been unanimously elected president for Sorhakhutte Pahiko Area Consumers' Committee based in Naya Bazar, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16.

The consumers' committee members were reshuffled amid a meeting held on Saturday.

Likewise, Ashta Narayan Maharjan has been elected vice-president of the committee while Nirmal Maharjan and Shyam Shrestha have been elected general secretary and treasurer respectively.

Similarly, Rajaram Lamichhane has been elected secretary for the committee while other elected members are Dilliman Shrestha, Ujjwal Tuladhar, Asha Shakya, Chandra Gopal Jha, Sarita Shrestha and Santu Maharjan.

The committee has been contributing to establish a close rapport among various communities dwelling in the area. The committee has been functioning in KMC-16 and 17 for about a decade.
