Veterinary hospital running without ultrasound machine
Kathmandu, July 5
Kathmandu Valley Veterinary Hospital in Tripureshwor has been running without ultrasound machine for over a year now.
The hospital administration informed that the hospital’s only ultrasound machine had been damaged in the massive earthquake last year.
Veterinary Officer at out-patient department Dr Arjun Aryal said the hospital had been forced to send people seeking the ultrasound serive back on a daily basis.
“We diagnosed up to four animals using the machine prior to the earthquake,” Dr Aryal told The Himalayan Times, “But we have been forced to turn away patients after the machine stopped functioning.”
An ultrasound machine can be used to identify health problems related to internal organs or pregnancy.
