Bhaktapur, March 5

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun today inaugurated the City Diagnosis Centre brought into operation by Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital.

The centre was brought into operation on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the hospital.

On the occasion, the Vice-president Pun pledged to help the hospital improve its technical services. He said he would also urge the government to increase

assistance being provided by the government to poor cancer patients from Rs 100,000 to Rs 300,000. He also urged

people to regularly undergo medical checkup. The new constitution has attempted its best to establish rights of the people to health services, the Vice-president added.

On the occasion, people providing over Rs 100,000 assistance to construct the new building for the hospital were honoured. Prof Anjani Kumar Sharma Best Disciplinary Award-2072 established in the name of hospital founder and cancer specialist late Dr Anjani Kumar Sharma was presented to lab technician Abinash Kumar Karna and account section’s Prabudhha Jung Rayamajhi collectively.
