Kathmandu, April 6:

Locals of Manamainju VDC on Sunday killed a leopard after it mauled three people today afternoon.

The leopard suddenly attacked Sunil Maharjan, 24, and Shyam Maharjan, 35, and an unidentified person from behind a bamboo bush, a local, Ashtha Maharjan, said. The trio were treated at the Siddhartha Apollo Hospital at Balaju from where they have already returned home.

The locals gheraoed the leopard and beat it up to death, DSP Shiva Hari Banskota at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju said, adding that the villagers had taken the body round the village.
