Water management meet from today

Kathmandu, November 20

An international symposium on water resource management will start here from tomorrow. The symposium is being organised by the British Council.

As many as 40 policy makers, researchers and beneficiaries from different countries of South Asia and the UK are participating in the symposium.

According to the British Council, the two-day seminar will mainly focus on issues such as health and sanitation, governance and financial allocation, water diplomacy and cooperation and water-food-energy nexus.

The symposium mainly aims to provide a platform to scientists, researchers and policy makers to discuss different aspects of water management and share knowledge and expertise to fill the gap between water management science and policies, to explore possibilities of promoting research and studies in the area of water resource management, and to develop a long lasting network of scientists, researchers, and policy makers in the region.

Similarly, the conference will highlight potential contributions of UK researchers and affiliated international bodies and identify strengths of participating countries in water management.
