Water meet gets underway

KATHMANDU: The Fourth South Asian Water Research Conference on ‘Interfacing

Poverty, Livelihood and climate Change in Water Resources Development: Lessons in South Asia’ began here on Monday.

A total of 60 participants from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Netherlands will be discussing relevant issues in the three-day long conference, stated a press release issued by Nepal Engineering College.

On the occasion, experts will present 28 research papers, including three from Nepal.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Shankar Prasad Koirala, secretary at the Ministry of Water Resources assured the support of the Nepali government towards the programme.
