Kathmandu, August 9

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa today said the ministry would investigate the incident in which two persons were killed in an encounter.

Police on Monday killed Gopal Tamang and Ajay Tamang in an encounter after they abducted and murdered 11-year-old Nishan Khadka.

During a State Affairs and Good Governance Committee meeting today, Thapa said, “We will investigate the incident and inform the Parliament.”

Thapa also consulted police heads about the incident before attending the committee meeting.

Lawmaker Devendra Raj Kadel, who is a member of the SAGGC, said the ministry should come up with real evidence.

“According to media reports, the kidnappers were picked from their room and killed later. Mediapersons were told it was an encounter,” he added.
