What is broken?
Kathmandu, March 17:
Parts of the pavement along the road from the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division at Ramshahpath to the Kamaladi turning are in a bad shape.
There is a drain on the side of the footpath. Most of the concrete slabs
covering the drain have either been broken or removed or not properly placed, creating gaps on the pavement.
“Walking in the dark might be risky as pedestrians are likely to fall,”
Lalita Sharma, a local shopkeeper, said.
Because of the gaps, the bad smell coming out of the drain becomes unbearable for the locals and the pedestrians.
“Neither the people nor the government is bothered to fix the damaged pavement,” said Sushil Neupane, a pedestrian who regularly uses the footpath.
