Workshop on gender mainstreaming in SDGs implementation

KATHMANDU:  A two-day workshop on gender mainstreaming in implementation of Sustainable Development Goals concluded in the Capital on Tuesday.

The workshop was jointly organised by National Women Commission and Beyond Beijing Committee, an organisation working for women's human rights.

The function was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Chandra Prakash Mainali.

In his inaugural speech, DPM Mainali appreciated the fact that the promulgation of new Constitution has created a favourable environment for the implementation of SDGs.

Implementing the SDGs will be effective only if people harmoniously walk in line with the rights ensured by the new Constitution, said DPM Mainali

Acting Chair of the National Human Rights Commission, Prakash Osti was invited as Chief Guest for the programme whereas President of NGO Federation Nepal Gopal Lamsal, Representative of VSO Geeta Pradhan among others were also present in the programme.
