KATHMANDU: Centre for International Institute for Maize and Wheat Research, South Asia Office on Friday inaugurated a two-day workshop on wheat breeding in the capital. Around 30 delegates from Nepal, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan are attending the workshop. Issuing a press statement, CSISA said, “The major objective of the workshop
is development of high yielding, stress
tolerant and good quality varieties for current and future cereal systems in South Asia”.
It aims to increase wheat yields by at least 1.1 per cent in next 15 years, ensuring food security in this region.
