YAN stresses youth-centric budget
KATHMANDU: Youth Association Nepal (YAN), aligned with the CPN-UML, today submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli calling for steps to insure youth-centric budget.
The YAN delegation led by its Chairman Rajiv Pahari reached the PM's official residence at Baluwatar to draw attention towards the need to prioritise youths while allocating the budget and increment of employment opportunities among others in the next fiscal year.
The YAN representatives also emphasised ending the violence against women (VAW), particularly in Tarai, and to ensure social justice, upholding equality and establishment of a fund for managed handling of remittance so that the money can be channelled for investment in bigger projects.
In response to the memo, PM Oli termed the issues raised by YAN as serious and pledged that the government would move forward with determination to resolve it, informed YAN Spokesperson, Prabhat Bikram Katuwal.
PM Oli alerted the youths towards the attempt of 'various international power centres' to use Nepal as a laboratory and the need for unity among them.
He also stressed on implementing the new constitution promulgated by the people's representatives together.
