Youth mark Dhaka Topi Day in call for identity
KATHMANDU: Scores of people gathered today at Maitighar Mandala of Kathmandu to mark the Dhaka Topi Day.
The gathering organised by the Jagaruk Yuwa Abhiyan Nepal started at 7 am today with youth donning Dhaka topis on their heads and chanting slogans to preserve the national identity amid the growing westernisation among the youth.
The mass then converted to a rally and marched towards Naya Baneshwor.
Meanwhile, some youth in the social media have also been spreading the message that celebrating the day once a year is not enough to preserve the cultural and national importance the Dhaka topi holds.
ढाका टोपि आज मात्रै नभएर सधै लगाउने गरेमा " म सगरमाथा र बुद्धको देश बाट हो " भनेर कसैलाई भनिराख्न पर्दैन्थ्यो होला ।।।#जयनेपाल
