'Youths' support essential for country's radical change'

KATHMANDU: Speakers have stressed that support of youth was necessary for a radical change in the country.

At an interaction organised by Metropolitan Police Sector, New Bus Park, and Community Service Centre here today, Chief of Metropolitan Police Range Bishwa Raj Pokharel pointed out the need for forming a committee of honest youths to maintain peace and security at new Bus Park area.

He said, "Police have been involved in a campaign to change Kathmandu. Support of honest people is necessary in it." Pokharel further said that there would be change in peace and security of New Bus Park area if police and youth move ahead joining their hands.

Saying police alone could not make improvement in the sector of peace and security without people's support, Chief of Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj, Yogendra Singh Thapa urged people to inform police about every incident that takes place in the society.

Similarly, Chairperson of Tokha Municipality-10, JP Nepal committed to support police in order to make Gongabu a model area.

Likewise, Chief of Metropolitan Police Sector, New Bus Park, Pratap Poudel, expressed commitment to make New Bus Park area a place of choice of all by improving peace and security there.

The Sector along with Community Police Service Centre has organised different programmes including public awareness at 17 schools in four months, said Sub-Inspector at the Centre, Dipendra Bahadur Malla.
