Domestic automobile industry has a good reason to celebrate this festive season

With the onset of the festive season, the four-wheeler market is getting really vibrant as dealers have geared up with attractive festive offers for customers. Majority of four-wheeler dealers have left no stone unturned to draw the customers to their showrooms. The festive season is considered the best time for the domestic automobile industry as the highest percentage of annual sales (40 per cent) happens during this time of the year. Most automobile companies have already sold hundreds of models in the past few weeks.

Almost all four-wheeler showrooms in the valley are decorated in the best possible way to attract the customers. Dealers are excited about this festive season as they are optimistic about achieving their sales targets with the introduction of alluring offers. As Dashain is just a couple of weeks away, automobile showrooms are being thronged with prospective buyers and inquiries and bookings.

“The sales of four-wheelers are growing in a positive way especially with the onset of the festive season,” said Karan Chaudhary, Executive Director of CG MotoCorp, authorised distributor of Maruti Suzuki. According to him, with the introduction of lucrative festive offers, customers’ footfall to showrooms have increased impressively. Citing that around 40 per cent of the total vehicle sales of a year happen during the festive season, Chaudhary said, “We are hopeful about increased booking and sales in October as recently launched Vitara Brezza and Baleno are more in demand.” He further added, “We expect to sell around 3,000 units by the end of this year.”

“We are looking forward to increase our sales in this festive season as the past trend shows people wait for this time of the year to buy a vehicle of their choice,” shared Rupesh Sharma Bhatta, Deputy General Manager, Laxmi InterContinental, autho-rised distributor of Hyundai. Informing that they have received plenty of bookings in every segment of car until now, he said, “We are optimistic that the festive offers will increase our sales during this festive season.”

“Compared to last year, the four-wheeler market has grown significantly this year,” shared Sunil B Chhetri, Deputy General Manager, GO Automobiles, authorised distributor of Ford, adding that the festive season coupled with flexible auto loans is the reason behind the increased sales. According to him, a major chunk of their annual sales is covered during the festive season. These days, the company has been receiving a number of inquiries from customers. “We plan to sell around 500 units during the festival period starting from September to November and almost half of our festive target has already been confirmed,” informed Chhetri.

“As the festive season is approaching nearer, majority of four-wheeler dealers are busy handling bookings,” said Prabin Khatiwada, General Manager, Sipradi Trading, authorised distributor of Tata. According to him, the festive season covers more than 40 per cent of the total annual sales of the Nepali four-wheeler market. “There is a growing demand for our models like Zest, Bolt and the recently launched Tiago,” he informed. He said, “We have sold altogether around 250 units and are looking forward to achieve our sales target of 2,500 units by the end of this year.”
