Pictures from Pashupatinath on Mahashivaratri day

KATHMANDU: Mahashivaratri, the night of Shiva dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva, the Hindu God of death and destruction, is being celebrated today.

The festival is observed on the 14th day of the waning moon in the 11th month of lunar calendar (Phalgun).

On the occasion, the devotees have thronged Pashupatinath temple and various Shiva temples to offer worships.
