DAMAULI:  District Traffic Police Office, Tanahun took action against various  buses for overcharging passengers on Monday. Police stopped the vehicles  at Damauli for checking and took action against such vehicles after the  public complained about overpricing in long as well as short routes.  Two vehicles, one en route to Birgunj from Pokhara and another heading  to Bhairahawa from Pokhara, were brought to book for the same. SI Om  Prakash Poudel said vehicle operators charged Rs 1,000 per passenger  against the usual fare of Rs 400. He said the money was returned to the  passengers. Tanahun District Traffic Police Office said police penalised  such vehicles for their illegal acts and warned vehicle operators not  to repeat the same in the days ahead.
