LAMJUNG: A person died on the spot and 12 others sustained injuries when a jeep plunged about 50 metres onto the bank of Marsyangdi River in Manang Nesyang Rural Municipality-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Ningathuma Lama (63), a permanent resident of Nesyang RM-1.

The jeep (Ga 1 Ja 6315) heading towards Manang from Nasong Rural Municipality-3 in Lamjung overturned near Bhratang River due to over speeding killing Lama and injuring others this afternoon, added police.

The injured including driver Tulsi Gurung were rushed to District Hospital in Chame for treatment.

Police are looking into the case.
