CHITWAN: A person died and 18 others sustained injuries after the passenger bus they were travelling overturned in Khairahani Municipality-1 along the East-West Highway of Chitwan district on Sunday morning.

Police have identified the deceased as 14-year-old Sunil Mizar of Rapti Municipality-5 in Chitwan district.

The incident occurred when the bus (Na 7 Kha 5118) en route from Bhairahawa to Birgunj when it lost control and overturned beside the road at 6:45 am today, injuring 19, according to District Police Office, Chitwan.

Critically injured Mizar breathed his last during the course of treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, informed police.

Meanwhile, remaining injured are undergoing treatment in various Chitwan-based hospitals.
