DADELDHURA: A person died and two others sustained injuries after being struck by lightning at two different locations in Alital Rural Municipality of Dadeldhura district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Harka Bahadur Thapa (30) of Alital-3 and injured as Man Bahadur Bista and Gomati Bista, both the residents of Alital-5.

It has been learned that Thapa was sitting at home at Bagthala when the lightning struck killing him on the spot, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dambar Bahadur KC at the Dadeldhura District Police Office.

Simlarly, the Bista duo was injured by lightning strike at Bhitrisen and have been rushed to Dhangadi-based Seti Zonal Hospital for further treatment, police said.
