BIRGUNJ: One person died and three others sustained injuries when a truck hit a tractor at Gadhimai Municipality-9 of Bara district along the Birgunj-Pathlaiya road section on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Kanhaiya Mahato of Kalaiya Municipality.

Similarly, the injured have been identified as tractor driver Ram Narayan Das, helper Dinesh Giri and Shyam Babu Sahani.

Police informed that the accident took place when the bus (Na 5 Kha 3099) heading towards Birgunj from Kathmandu hit the tractor (Na 2 Ta 9150) this morning.

Mahato and Sahani were travelling in the tractor when the incident occurred.

Police have impounded the bus and arrested its driver for investigation.
