GAUSHALA: A person died and three others sustained injuries after a bus hit the motorcycle they were travelling on in Jaleshwar Municipality-3 of Mahottari district on Wednesday.

It has been learnt that all four were riding on the same motorcycle.

The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar Sah (25) of Devtaal Rural Municipality-3 of Bara district, and injured as Sonu Kumar Thakur (18), Chunchundevi Thakur (16), and Meghnath Thakur (30) of Sitamadhi District in Bihar, India.

According to police, the incident occurred when the bus with Indian registration (B R 06 PC 9251) belonging to Nepal-India Bus Service collided head-on with the motorcycle (Ja 6 Pa 1650) in Maliwara at 10:00 pm yesterday, killing one and critically injuring three others.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Ishwar Karki at District Police Office, Mahottari, Sonu Kumar and Chunchundevi are being treated at Janakpur Zonal Hospital while Meghnath was sent to a hospital in Biratnagar.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
