UDAYAPUR: One person died and three others were critically injured when a passenger bus met with an accident in Saune VDC-1 of Udayapur on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Shradha Rai (19) of Batase-4, Khotang district.

Among the injured, Bishnu Kumar Rai and Dewan Rai of the same locality are said to be in critical condition.

Most of the passengers were heading towards their home villages to celebrate Dashain.

Police said other passengers are safe.

The incident occurred when the ill-fated bus (Ba 2 Kha 7656) heading towards Khotang from Gaighat skidded off the road and fell 15 metres down at around 6 am today, police informed.

SP Govinda Kumar Sah said that a police team has been sent to the incident site for rescue operation.
