CHAUTARA: A man died and four others were seriously injured due to high voltage power supply at Hagam VDC in Sindhupalchok district on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Somlal Tamang (48) of Pepta Village in the district.

Tamang, who received electric shock while trying to switch on the light, was rushed to a hospital but breathed his last on the way, Sub-Inspector Darja Tamang of the Area Police Office, Jalbire informed.

Tamang further informed that Somlal's wife Deshmaya Tamang (44), Sundari Tamang (35) Mina Tamang (15) and Sanchalaxmi Tamang (15) were injured in the incident.

They were rushed to the Jalbire Primary Health Centre, which later referred them to the Dhulikhel Hospital in Kavre.
