UDAYAPUR: One person died and four others were injured when a Bolero jeep (Ga 1Ja 4616) met with an accident at Beteni- Rupatar road section of Sirise VDC-1 of the district on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Tej Bahadur Karki (31) of Limpatar-3 and injured as Hari Bahadur Khatri (34) of Limpatar-4, Thir Bahadur Basnet (30) of Limpatar-5, Raj Kumar Budhathoki (30) and Krishna Kumari Budathoki (50) of Sirise, according to the District Police Office in Udayapur.

They are undergoing treatment at the Katari Hospital.

Police said that the accident occurred due to brake failure.

Meanwhile, the jeep driver and owner Gaur Bahadur Katwal (51) of Sorung Chabise-6 fled the scene following the incident.

Police have started a manhunt to nab the duo.
