10 injured in Morang jeep accident

BHOJPUR: At least 10 persons were injured when a Bolero jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Yangsila of Morang district on Tuesday morning.

Three of the injured are in critical condition, the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar informed.

Police said that incident occurred after the jeep (Me 1 Ja 1229) skidded off the road and fell some 100 metres down at around 10 am.

Januka Century, Karuna Lawati and Rajendra Limbu of Kurumba-1, who were critically injured in the incident, are receiving treatment at the Birat Nursing Home, police said.

Police informed that Ajaya Century, Kushal Rai of Kurumba-1; Samata Tamang of Limba-8; Sumitra Rai of Sakphara, Ilam; Kamala Rai of Ibhang; Sanu Limbu of Damak, Jhapa; and Chaitu Rajbanshi of Dhulabari, Jhapa sustained minor injuries in the incident.

They are undergoing treatment at the Damak-based Namaste Hospital.

Police said that they are searching for the driver who fled the scene after the incident.
