10 kids saved from being trafficked

Birgunj, January 2:
The Birgunj based Maiti Nepal this morning rescued eight children from 8-14 years of age while they were being taken to India.
The organisation also handed over the people, involved in trafficking the children, to the police. The children were about to be trafficked to a New Delhi based industry for employing them in embroidering clothes. Eight of them were from Dhalkebar VDC of Dhanusha district.
Volunteers of the Maiti Nepal had taken the children under their control at the Birgunj-Raxaul border while they were being taken to India by auto rickshaws.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested Ranjit Mahato, Shaym Sundar Kuswaha, Kapil Mahato and Dilip Shah of Dhalkebar VDC who were taking the children to India.
Meanwhile, in-charge of Birgunj based Maiti Nepal Sangita Puri said that they have already contacted the children’s parents for safe return to their homes.
