1,000 solar lamps handed over to Pokhara Metropolis

Pokhara, May 7

Street solar lights installed on roadsides of Pokhara with the financial support of the Chinese government were handed over to Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolis amidst a programme held in the Lake City today.

At the function, where Chinese envoy Yu Hong was present, Executive Officer of the metropolis Dhirga Narayan Paudel and Deputy Director General of Foreign Affairs Office

of Tibet Autonomous Region Ma Quinsheng signed on a Memorandum of Understanding and exchanged letters.

As many as 1,000 solar street lights had been installed under the Street Solar Light Project from Bijayapur to Hallanchowk with financial assistance of Rs 15 crore.

Chairperson of Pokhara chapter of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry  Biswoshankar Palikhe said that the project was completed with special support from the FNCCI.

Envoy Hong expressed happiness at being able to assist the metropolis. He said that works on the Pokhara Regional International Airport would start shortly.

At the programme, Executive Officer Paudel thanked China for its support for solar lamps installation.
