11 passengers injured in night bus-truck collision at Amlekhganj

KATHMANDU: Eleven people sustained injuries when a night bus and a truck collided head-on at Amlekhganj-8 of Bara district on Tuesday morning.

The bus was heading to Sarlahi from Kathmandu when it collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction according to police, the Mid Regional Police said.

The injured were rescued and sent to the Simara-based Tarai Simara Hospital.

Police took the truck driver in custody while the bus driver is still on the run.

Trucks collide at Darechok

Meanwhile, three people were injured as two trucks collided head-on at Chumkhola, Darechok in Chitwan along the Prithvi Highway at around 3:30 am today.

Drivers of both the heavy vehicles and an assistant driver were hurt in the incident. One of them is said to be in a critical condition.

Police said they were sent to Kathmandu for treatment.
