11 teachers arrested

Pokhara, November 9:

The police arrested 11 teachers while they were taking out a peaceful rally from Prithvichowk, Pokhara, on Wednesday. The teachers were demanding the revival of the Constitution. The Nepal Teachers Association (NTA), Kaski, had organised the rally on the occasion of Constitution Day. The chairman of the NTA, Kaski, Bijay Bhandari and teachers Shiromani Lamichhane, Bishwa Raj Bastola, Khem Nath Timilsina, Binod Subedi, Purushottam Sapkota, Yam Nath Sapkota, were among those arrested. The teachers have been kept at the District Police

Office (DPO), Kaski, the DPO said. Expressing concern over the arrests, the Nepali Congress, Kaski, has demanded that the teachers be released immediately. Police Inspector Krishna Pangeni said the teachers will be released on Thursday.
