11 wild buffaloes brought to Chitwan from Koshi Tappu, Central Zoo

CHITWAN: As many as 11 wild buffaloes have been brought to the Chitwan National Park (CNP) from the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve and the Central Zoo in the Capital in past 12 days.

Ten wild buffaloes including two males from the Koshi Tappu and a male from the Central Zoo have been brought here recently, said CNP Chief Ramchandra Kandel.

Two more are arriving from the Koshi Tappu soon, said CNP Information Officer Nurendra Aryal.

The government around two years ago had decided to bring 20 wild buffaloes including five males to the CNP.

Remaining others will be shifted to the CNP at an appropriate time, it has been learned.
