114 people benefited from free eye surgical camp

KHOTANG: One hundred and fourteen patients in Khotang district who were suffering for long from complicated eye conditions have benefited from a free eye camp, set up here on Thursday.

The three day long camp, set up for the benefit of eye patients suffering from complicated eye diseases, had as many as 38 eye surgeries.

A team of 10 eye doctors and surgeons including Dr T Chhiring Wangchuk Bhutia rendered their services at the eye camp — organised as part of the East Regional Eye Care Programme — was provided with the technical support by Sagarmatha Chaudhari Eye Hospital, Lahan.

The eye surgery camp held at District Hospital, Diktel and the Primary Health Centre, Ainselukharka was coordinated by Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, Khotang.

During the camp, seven hundred and fifty one people were provided with free eye check-up services at the District Hospital and 481 at Ainselukharka.
