BHIMDUTTANAGAR: The District Community Forestry Coordination Committee on Sunday handed over a total of 119 community forests to the concerned communities in Kanchanpur district.
Committee Chairman Maheshdutta Joshi said that the move has helped in forest conservation and other development works in the society.
Joshi further said that the community forests in Sisne area and 13,500 hectares forest area of the national forest have been declared zero-grazing region for the conservation bid.
With the new steps, the efforts of community are expected to be highly beneficial for the conservation of endangered species Bijaya Sal (Pterocarpus marsupium).
