DAMAK: As many as 12 passengers were injured when a bus turned turtle at Betani Culvert along the Damak-Chiyabagan of Jhapa district on Friday.

The bus (Me 1 Kha 971) was heading towards Beltar of Udayapur from Kakarbhitta when the incident occurred.

Police said that the incident took place after the driver lost control of the vehicle all of a sudden and turned turtle on the roadside at around 7:30 am today.

Among the injured, Yammaya Katuwal (60) of Beltar-6 is said to be in critical condition.

She has been rushed to Biratnagar for treatment.

Similarly, other injured are undergoing treatment at the Damak-based Lifeline Hospital, police said.
