12 medical specialists transferred to districts

Kathmandu, June 6:

The Ministry of Health and Population has transferred 12 specialists, including pathologists, radiologists, medical officers and anaesthetists, to various districts. The move has been taken to cope with the shortage of health professionals across the country. According to the Department of Health Services, while one radiologist each has been transferred to Birgunj and Janakpur, an anaesthetist and a medical officer have been transferred to Biratnagar and Dang, one pathologist each to the Kanti Hospital and the Indra Rajya Laxmi Maternity hospital.

While an orthopaedic surgeon and a gynaecologist have been transferred to Nepalgunj and Jhapa, one medical officer each has been sent to Rukum, Myadgi, and Manang.
