DAMAULI: At least 13 people were injured after a bus (Ga 1 Kha 4022) collided with a car (Ga 8 Cha 2262) and fell some 30 feet down the road Gunadi of Jamune VDC of Tanahun district on Tuesday evening.

It has been learned that the bus veered off the road and plunged down while trying to save the car, which was heading towards Damauli from Pokhara.

Police said that car driver was at fault -- he was intoxicated and was driving on the wrong lane.

Eleven of the injured are undergoing treatment at Damauli based-Ratnagiri Hospital, while two critically injured were sent to Pokhara,  according to the Tanahun District Police Office.

The two are identified as Pramila Gurung (11) and Raju Bhandari (43).

Police have detained both drivers of both the car and the bus for investigation is underway.
