13 hurt in collision involving three vehicles in Chitwan

RATNANAGAR: As many as 13 passengers were injured in a collision involving three heavy vehicles in Ratnanagar Municipality-1 1 along the East-West Highway in Chitwan on Monday midnight.

The injured are yet to be identified.

According to the Chitwan District Police Office, the incident took place after a west-bound passenger bus (Ba 3 Kha 9311) collided head-on with a truck (Na 6 Kha 6163) before getting rammed by another bus (Na 5 Kha 9136) coming from behind, at Sauraha Chok at around 12:30 last night. Injured are the passengers of both the buses.

Among the injured passengers, four are being treated at the Ratnanagar Bakulahar Hospital while others were rushed to the Chitwan Medical College and the College of Medical Sciences.

Police suspected that speeding could have caused the accident.

Meanwhile, Ratnanagar-based Area Police Office detained the bus and truck drivers for further investigation into the case.
