13,000 plus drivers face music in Ilam

ILAM: The District Traffic Office, Ilam, collected more than Rs 4.2 million in revenue from as many as 13,250 traffic rule violators in the current fiscal year.

The Office said that the revenue collection under this topic is higher compared to the previous fiscal years. The Office collected Rs 2.4 million in revenue in the last fiscal year.

The revenue amount has increased after the traffic police personnel started regular checkups in the highways and punished the traffic rule violators. The traffic police said that more than Rs 150,000 amount was collected from the drunk drivers.

Likewise, the drivers running vehicles without carrying other documents including license, vehicles carrying more passengers than the capacity and supplying goods in the passenger-buses were booked and penalised.
