14 RPs resign enmasse

Bara, January 19:

Citing lack of workable atmosphere, some 14 resource persons of different resource centres here submitted their joint resignation to the Bara District Education Officer today.

They had reportedly been threatened by the local All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R).

Those who resigned today are Narayan Prasad Sharma of Kalaiya resource centre, Sacchitanand Tiwari of Bariyarpur, Kailash Prasad Shah of Chyutaha, Ramsundar Yadav of Paparpati, Yugalkishor Singh of Simraungadh, Janardan Chaudhary of Sapahi resource centre, Ramekwal Chaudhary of Umjan, Divraj Subba of the Rajpur Tokani resource centre, Bishwonath Prasad Shah of Prasauni, Bankalal Chauhan of Batara, Gyanhari Nirmal of Pathlaiya, Sudarshan Koirala of Nijgarh, Baidyanath Paswan of Dohari and Ganesh Poudel of Dumarwana resource centre.

“We have jointly resigned because the resource centres here lack working environment,” they said in the joint resignation.

Earlier, the ANNISU-R district president Binod Kuswaha has asked those resource persons to resign from their posts by January 7 and take the position in their schools. “Despite provision of school inspectors in the DEO for providing the advice to the schools, the teachers of the district are being used as resource persons,” Kuswaha said in the letter which had also threatened of actions if they failed to resign. The resource persons work as supervisors of training and facilitator of education office, a resource person said.
