1,472 child labourers found in Kaski: DCWC

Pokhara, September 18

The District Child Welfare Committee Kaski said today that two municipalities—Pokhara Sub Metropolitan City and Lekhnath Municipality—in Kaski have as many as 1,472 child labourers.

At an interaction organized by the District Child Welfare Committee in Kaski today, the committee made public its report on the status of child workers in the district.

Of the child labourers, 660 work as domestic helps. All of them are under 18.

Similarly, hotels and restaurants have 262 child workers, garages and workshops 110, construction sector 114, transport sector 44, sand mine 36, agriculture 53, and two each in entertainment and boat sailing and 178 in other categories.
