15 people missing after jeep plunges into Karnali river

KATHMANDU: As many as 15 people have gone missing after a jeep they were travelling in plunged into the Karnali river in Kharpunath Rural Municipality-5 of Humla district, today afternoon.

It has been learnt that the jeep (Lu 1 Ka 7166) — which had the capacity to carry only nine people comfortably — was overcrowded.

A team of Nepal Police, Nepal Army, and Armed Police Force have been deployed to carry out the search and rescue operations.
