DAMAULI: A 15-year-old girl's body was found dangling from a wooden beam in her room in Abukhaireni of Tanahun district on Friday. Police said it could be a case of suicide.

Police identified the deceased as Bishnumaya Chepang, who hailed from Chandibhanjyang of neighbouring Chitwan district.

Locals informed police after they saw the girl's body hanging from a shawl tied to the wooden beam. As the girl did not come outside her room till late in the morning, her neighbours had gone to knock her door, only to discover the apparent case of suicide.

The body has been sent to the to Damauli-based District Hospital for postmortem.

Police said they are looking into the case.
