DAMAULI: As many as 16 passengers, including four police personnel, were injured after a bus hit a police van at Ghansikuwa-2 of Tanahun district on Wednesday.

ASI Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Constables Santa Bahadur Gurung, Maita Bahadur Gharti and Hari Bahadur Lama are being treated at Damauli-based Ratnahari Hospital, along with other injured passengers, informed the District Police Office.

Two of the seriously injured passengers were later referred to Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara and are undergoing treatment there.

The bus (Na 5 Kha 4033) en route to Pokhara from Muglin had hit the police van (Ba 1 Jha 7379) heading towards Beshishahar of Lamjung disitrct from Bhorletar via the Prithvi Highway at a turning along the road.

Police have impounded the vehicle and arrested the bus driver for further investigation.
