Tanahun: At least 16 persons have been injured when a bus collided with a truck in Byas Municipality-12 along the Prithvi Highway of Tanahun district on today.

According to police, the bus (Na 4 Kha 5491) en route from Damauli to Kathmandu and the truck (Na 6 Kha 3293) collided head-on at Belbhanjyang, injuring them, this morning.

Five critically injured including the bus driver, Subas Rai, have been undergoing treatment at Pokhara-based Manipal Hospital, informed the District Police Office, Tanahun. The rest of the injured are receiving treatment at Laxmi Hospital in Dumre.

Meanwhile, police have detained the truck driver for further investigation, said police.
