DHANGADHI: Police said six persons were held for their alleged involvement in gang-raping a minor girl in Ghodaghodi Municipality-4 of Kailali district.

Victim's relatives filed a First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday although the incident had occurred on the morning of April 14, according to Area Police Office (APO), Sukhad.

Subsequently, police arrested six youths -- Rakesh Giri aka Keshav, Rupesh Chaudhary, Laxman Rawal, Hemraj Chhetri, Narendra Bishowkarma and Navin Shahi.

"Six youths gang raped the minor after giving her an injection in a nearby jungle when she was on the way to attend her relative's wedding," said Police Inspector Yekchha Raj Joshi at the APO.

Joshi further said, the minor has been referred to Kathmandu as her treatment was not possible in Nepalgunj.
